Founded in the winter of 2024, Downham Independent Gaming Society began with three friends who wanted to share their passion for tabletop gaming and create a welcoming, community-focused space for others to enjoy it too. What started as a small idea has grown into a thriving group, bringing together a diverse range of players who value creativity, connection, and a shared love of gaming.
At its core, the society exists to provide an inclusive and engaging environment where people of all experience levels can come together to play, learn, and build lasting friendships. As the community has grown, so too has the team behind it, expanding to support the club’s development and ensure a safe, friendly, and accessible space for everyone who attends.
Whether you’re brand new to tabletop gaming or a seasoned player, our mission remains the same: to make gaming enjoyable, welcoming, and community-driven for all.
Meet the Team
Behind every great session is a dedicated team working to make it happen. Our organisers are passionate about gaming and committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for everyone who attends. Get to know the people who help bring the club to life each week.
Steve | THe TOWN CRier
Oversees the club’s communications and social media, ensuring members stay informed and up to date with everything happening each week. From announcements and updates to promoting upcoming sessions, Steve makes sure no important news goes unheard across the community.
Ed | THe Keeper of Coin
Manages the club’s finances, ensuring funds are handled responsibly and transparently. Through careful oversight, Ed helps make sure the club can continue to run smoothly, supporting resources, events, and the overall experience for members.
Kelly | THe Healer
Acts as the club’s safeguarding lead, supporting the wellbeing of members and helping maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. Alongside this, Kelly also runs the tuck shop, keeping everyone well supplied with snacks and drinks throughout each session.
Jacob | THe Quest Giver
Coordinates events and special activities, ensuring everything is organised and ready to run smoothly. Through careful planning, Jacob helps create engaging and memorable experiences that bring the community together.
